So, what’s one measly endangered black rhinoceros, in service of THE GREATER GOOD? A safari club in Dallas auctioned off a license to hunt one black rhinoceros for $350,000. They think this is acceptable and even righteous since the rhino in question is “old and aggressive” (and totally deserves what he’s got coming to him!) and the proceeds from the sale will go to “conservation efforts” but… c’mon. Really? Seriously? You’re gonna put a dead black rhino hide on the cover of “Save the Black Rhino Weekly”? When the world hears news of the going price for black rhino (not just old and aggressive ones,) won’t that just increase demand for the rare beast among Safari Joe types (see picture below)?
