Dewey’s Theme: A History
I noticed that Deputy Dewey of the Scream franchise has his own Twin Peaks-esque theme song by Marco Beltrami (parts of which were originally used in Broken Arrow by composer Hans Zimmer!!) in the second movie. In the third film he and Gale had a love theme.
The Broken Arrow bits are “explained” here:
JS – By the way, how that “Broken Arrow” music became the theme for one of the major characters?
MB – It was used in the temp.
Well. OK then.
Sadly, my hopes that his Scream 4 theme would carry on this odd tradition were dashed. It was very… wallpaper… just there in the background. Nothing as full of weird porno swagger anyways.
