Kids will teach you if you let them and if you’re paying close attention. As an adult, I have a need for order and as a parent a need to set and obey the rules. It’s kind of my job. So when my daughter asked me to color with her, in this case in her Zootopia coloring book, I sat down and began [But wait, there’s more!]
Another of Maya's works. This one she painted on our window. ALVIIIIIIIIIIIIIN! Again, it only took me a moment to see that there was a dancing princess, but I have to admit that she had to point out the little horse she was riding. Internet, today you are my refrigerator door.
My daughter, Maya, is almost three years old. This is one of her first creations. Even without her telling me, I knew, I just knew these were people (or duck people) and that they were in love. Maya later told me, "It's Daddy and Mommy." I thought I was the square one but it tuns out I'm the rounded [But wait, there’s more!]
My Cow 4 - Prometheus from F is for Film on Vimeo. Maya dons a space helmet (thanks Takako!) for Episode IV of My Corner of the World. Did this a while ago but forgot to post it here. If you like this, comment and share. You don't want Maya to cry do you?
I was working on a prototype for a new series of pop culture video blips when Roger stepped in and asked to host them at Tainted Reality. The term "crash cuts" refers to when your video editing amounts to recording each new shot straight to tape as you intend the audience to view it. It's frowned [But wait, there’s more!]
We took Maya to Takako's hometown of Tateyama to see Takako's family there and showed her the sites, this was the result. Some of the cuts are there just to get Maya to laugh. She's already watched it 20 times and won't stop pestering us to show it 20 more. I feel flattered and very, very tired. The [But wait, there’s more!]
Maya's reign of adorable continues with Episode III of My Corner of the World. This time we're in animal costumes and are joined by GRAPHIC ARTIST, CHRISTOPHER BUTLER!! My Cow 3 - Tokyo Jungle from F is for Film on Vimeo.
Started a new web series out of my music room called My Corner of the World. It's about reaching that point in life when you give up geek real estate in your home, in order to make way for the all consuming young life you brought into this world. In my case, my daughter Maya Ariel. It's about [But wait, there’s more!]
I've been meaning to put this up forever. It's vacation footage from 2012 cut to Otsuka Ai's SMILY. SMILY FLORIDA from F is for Film on Vimeo. It's fun to look back and remember how adorably chubby Maya was as a baby. My nieces, were right on the cusp of teendom too. That scene of them [But wait, there’s more!]
We went for a stroll with Maya and it turned into one of the most adorkable videos I've ever cut. I used to love this Amuro Namie song when I was a younger man... but it was always missing something. Suffice to say, I've fixed it with the addition of Maya. The Stewarts at Yanticaw Park from F is [But wait, there’s more!]
