Note: I wrote this for my Grandfather (Bampa) for Christmas to go with a photo of our growing family.
I never had much use for math.
Numbers tell you one thing today
That’s entirely different tomorrow.
I used to believe one minus one equaled zero
But then we lost someone dear to us
And here we are,
at minus one.
When my wife and I met,
It was as two halves of the same whole
And together we became one
Following that math, adding one more
Should have made us two, or maybe three
but it didn’t.
It made us infinite.
Time marches past us, individually
But no matter how fast the hands run,
They can never out lap us as a unit.
Forever is in the palm
Of her tiny outstretched hands
As she reaches for stars
that are already hers.
We went for a stroll with Maya and it turned into one of the most adorkable videos I’ve ever cut. I used to love this Amuro Namie song when I was a younger man… but it was always missing something. Suffice to say, I’ve fixed it with the addition of Maya.

This will be fantastic material to embarrass her with when she’s twenty.
No sooner had I declared Maya an unfeeling automatot than she exploded in glee at the very idea of soap bubbles. I have documented this startling development along with her first real laughter for all to see and hear.
Let’s all pretend Eddie Vedder is singing “Why deny all the bubbles when combined…” that is, if you can understand him at all.

LA Noire is a selfish little bastard of a game. It invites you over to its home and suggests that you play cops and robbers. For a while things are great and everyone is having fun but then wouldn’t you know it, LA Noire doesn’t like your ideas or the choices you make so it ignores them and suddenly you’re just a player in a very elaborate overwritten play. But man does it start out like the goddamn second coming (editor’s note: of Police Quest.)

Investigator Maya is on the case!

I have been derelict in my duties to tell you how awesome being a fucking dad is. Well, now I have. Here are some pictures of our happy fucking family. This is pretty much the best year of my entire life. I got the bump up to Producer/Director at work (finally getting paid for what I’ve been doing all along,) and I got my Maya. Happiness abounds.

And here’s us sleeping in bed with her. I elbow dropped her this morning accidentally but I’m calling it homage to the recently deceased Macho Man Randy Savage.. so it’s OK.
