When I listened to this without paying attention what was said, I thought it was a sappy love song. I didn’t realize it was a heartbreaker.

The title of this song comes form the word “esoragoto” which means “a pipe dream” or “a dream which has little hope of coming true”. However, by removing the “goto” from the end of the word, Sakurai is focusing on the fantastic element of the dream without the cynical connotations of the full word.
