Fragile History
I have been in vacationing in Italy for the past ten days with Takako and our rubber chicken Bubuka (photos to come) and it dawned on me just how incredibly expendable everything is. Who knew that the seven Gladiator helmets at the National Archaeological Museum in Napoli are the only ones left in existence. Following the fall of the Roman Empire it was a complete fire sale of culture and heritage, birth right and lineage. Everything had to go! The catacombs raided, the Colloseum stripped of its metals, everything melted down, burned, sold, shit upon. And what a culture it was! Advanced beyond its era. Intellectual! Anti-Intellectual! Deviant! All Inclusive! Exclusive! And it was wiped out completely and the world plunged into barbarism. I have so much more to say but, work calls. Photos later.
