I think the Fox network gets its kicks canceling Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly) series, usually before they’ve even had a chance to build an audience.
Granted Drive had a huge promotional push behind it and was a mercy kill, but come on! His latest, Dollhouse, could be Fox’s ALIAS. However, in a showing of extreme distrust, the show has been quietly been moved from a primo spot next to the returning American Idol to the Friday evening DEAD ZONE where it will join the faltering Sarah Connor Chronicles in the new mid season. Two birds with one stone.
My sympathies are with Joss, even though his relationship with Fox is something of a battered wife scenario.
Here’s hoping enough people who matter watch it on Fridays since, you know, people without Neilsen connections don’t actually matter. If I was him, I’d start digging around for that card from that charming fellow from HBO.
Aside from True Blood, what the hell else do they have going on?
